Sustainable Agriculture
American Land Company's Sustainable Agriculture Division
American Land Company is committed to the idea of sustainable agriculture in all its use of land and natural resources.
- 1) Satisfy human need for food and fiber, and contribute to biofuel needs.
- 2) Enhance environmental quality and the resource base.
- 3) Sustain the economic viability of agriculture.
- 4) Enhance the quality of life for farmers, farm workers, and society as a whole.
We have four primary goals:
Good quality water is almost more valuable than oil in West Texas, and we have obtained a number of acquifers, enabling us to create greater productive use of the biological and genetic potential of native plants and animal species, not only now, but far into the future. It also allows us to add new plants to the area, such as vineyards, Native American herbs, medicinal plants, and super tree forestry. We are creating our own water districts that will leverage our capability to optimize water usage and our environment.
For more than a century, the Daniel family, who owns American Land Company, has been a leader in the development of West Texas, including farms, ranching, real estate, mining, oil and gas, and helping fund Texas Tech University. We are bringing new technologies and vision to build a smart city, and will continue to develop all of these aspects in symbiotic unison for the betterment of all involved.
American Land Company has developed many bio-products for export, including: building products, pulp and paper, forest products, biofuels, bioenergy, ethanol, biochemicals, biodegradeable plastics, adhesives, soil and water remediation.
